This seven-day trip pairs two of the finest stretches of trout water in the Southern Rockies: a three-day camping float through the Middle Box of the Rio Grande — one of the most dramatic canyon fisheries in the country, under essentially no angling pressure — followed by three days of guided private-water fly fishing on the Conejos River out of the Green Drake Lodge, an exclusive-use cabin in southern Colorado. Taos Fly Shop guides handle the fishing on the Rio Grande and Conejos; Far Flung Adventures — the only permitted multi-day float operator on this reach of the Rio Grande — manages the river camp, horse pack in and logistics.
